1. Eligibility & Accounts

You may use the Site only if you can form a binding contract with us and are in compliance with these Terms and applicable laws. Certain features may require creating an account or submitting application information; you agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.

2. Program Applications & Communications

When you submit forms or applications, you authorise us to review your submission, contact you about your inquiry, and share details with relevant internal teams and, where applicable, implementing partners to process your request. We may send you administrative messages and, where permitted, updates related to programs, events, or opportunities. You can opt out of non-essential communications as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to, and not to allow others to:

• Violate laws or infringe the rights of others
• Upload or transmit malicious code, or attempt to bypass security or access non-public areas
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means without our prior written permission
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation
• Collect or harvest data from the Site except as permitted by these Terms

4. User Content

You may be able to submit or upload content (e.g., messages, application materials, comments). You retain ownership of your content, but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and display such content as reasonably necessary to operate the Site and Services. You represent that you have all rights needed to grant this licence and that your content does not violate law or others’ rights.

The Site, including text, graphics, logos, and other materials, is owned by Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev) or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site content without prior written consent. Trademarks, names, and logos may not be used without permission.

6. Third-Party Links & Services

The Site may contain links to third-party sites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and may be subject to their terms.

7. Changes to the Site & Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Site (in whole or in part) at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date indicates the most recent revision. Continuing to use the Site after changes indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates, partners, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Site; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Site; or (c) unauthorised access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive will remain in effect.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Gulu to resolve any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site.

13. International Use

You are responsible for complying with local laws applicable to your use of the Site, including laws relating to online conduct and content, and export controls where relevant.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and supersede any prior or contemporaneous understandings. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
